Singer/songwriter (and Guilford Porchfest co-founder) Laurie Kenney wrote her first song at 12 and her second at 56. Her debut album, Every Apple Does Go Bad Eventually, started as a self-imposed challenge: learn to play guitar and write and record an album of original songs…or die trying. Trolley Creek is a bluegrass band whose humble beginnings formed under the tutelage of local Guilford bluegrass icon Phil Rosenthal. Featuring a varied set list with an old-time sound, updated classics, and sweet harmonies, Trolley Creek is: Libby Kingsbury, lead vocals & guitar and co-founder of Guilford Porchfest; Catherine DeCarlo, banjo; Woody Levin, mandolin; John Jarvis, bass; Lenore Hammers, fiddle; and Dave Funkhauser, guitar.
Remy Adair is an 11-year-old singer/songwriter from Guilford, Connecticut. Remy creates original music and lyrics and is excited to share her songs with everyone!
The versatile Shovel Ready String Band performs heartfelt original songs alongside up-tempo fiddle tunes, country blues, bluegrass, and traditional ballads of love and loss. Frank has been singing and performing since his teens, both as a solo artist and with multiple duos and bands around CT and beyond (as far north as the state of Maine) as a solo acoustic act for the last several years. He uses looping technology to build songs on the spot with layered parts, including harmony vocals. Frank's repertoire covers a broad range of genres and artists. He excels at interacting with the crowd, engaging them & taking requests!
Clare Byrne & The Celestials are "astral folk" — mixing folk, blues and gospel in theatrical acoustic/electric mixes, with spacious vocal harmonies and incisive lyrics. A music and dance collective from NY and CT with songwriting by Clare Byrne, and musicians/dancers Amy Larimer, and Nicholas Leichter.
David Alpert is a nationally recognized, award-winning singer/songwriter of children and family songs. A CT native, David worked as a songwriter for many years in Los Angeles & Nashville. David just completed a new album of 16 songs for children & families entitled Travelin’ Light, Chasin’ Dreams, a series of children’s songs promoting self-esteem and self-confidence & encouraging everyone to embrace their natural instinct toward kindness & friendship.
